This small sandwich bar is always heaving with Madrileños.
And a for a very good reason – it does fantastic bocadillos de calamares, at a very generous €2.70. A tiny eatery tucked away down Calle de Botoneras off of Plaza Mayor, the queues continue outside. There’s not much seating space, but you’ll be sure to find somewhere to sit in Plaza Mayor and enjoy a very reasonably-priced takeaway (compared to restaurant prices in the square next door).
